Pirates Ownership: Unaware The Pirates Are Part Of MLB

Pittsburgh, PA- During a rare question and answer session with Pittsburgh Pirate majority owner Bob Nutting, he was surprised to find out that the Pirates are part of major league baseball. He was quoted as saying “I guess it kind of makes sense since we are forced to play against major league teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Dodgers, I just wish somebody would of told us this before we got rid of our better players. I often wondered why we didn’t play other amateur teams and I was really going to bring that up with the schedule maker.” He also was quoted as saying, “Are there any other bombshells you are going to drop on us? I mean really, guys, this is ridiculous! I really don’t know a lot about baseball and after watching the Pirates for the last fifteen or so years, I just assumed that they were a double A outfit. Boy, do I feel dumb! You can be sure the next time I buy in to a business, I’m going to do a little more research!” Apparently, overwhelmed and confused, he stormed out of the meeting after also learning that the earth is not flat and that pigs really can’t fly. He was overheard mumbling, “This is unbelievable, I can’t wait to tell Kevin Mclatchy!”
