Steelers New Tactic: Confusion!

Steelers have a new tactic. Confuse the opposition. What do I mean? Read on and I will explain, but first let’s talk about the good stuff.

After watching the Steelers win last night and Big Ben throw an unbelievable pass to Mike Wallace, it just feels like everything is right in the world again. Now of course I know that there are a million things wrong in the world, that’s why I don’t watch the news. But, in our little corner of the world, in Steeler nation. . . it just feels right again. Good job Steelers and good job Ben.

Someone else that I want to acknowledge is Heath Miller. This guy is amazing and although he has missed a few balls these past few weeks and has a few untimely penalties, I think he is as dependable as they come. We all know how great Hines Ward is, he shows it every week. Santonio Holmes is always good for a few big plays also, and Mike Wallace is proving to be the real deal. But Heath Miller is one of those guys that just shows up every game and goes to work. He is a true blue collar, Pittsburgh type of guy that although not from here, fits right in. I know that we are hanging on by a thread to our playoff hopes, but I really hope that we can somehow get in. Even though they have a funny way of showing it, this team is too talented to sit out come January.

Now as for the Steelers play calling, I’m a little confused. Now it’s not hard to make me confused, I admit that, but an onside kick? I think the whole point was to confuse the opposition or make them think that we’re crazy. Maybe if they think we’re a little whacky, then they won’t know how to defend against us. Kind of like that kid in school that just lost it one day and started freakin out. Nobody ever messed with him the rest of the school year. I get it now, coach. I see what your doing. I actually have some ideas that may help for the game against Baltimore. Let me know what you think.

1) Ben can punt the ball on first down, but only if we are losing and really need to score with time ticking down.

2) If we have the ball in the red zone, Ben can hand it off to Mendenhall and he can run the opposite way in to the other endzone for a safety.

3) After we kickoff, our whole team can run off the field and sit on the sidelines.

4) If Baltimore has the ball in our territory, once Joe Flacco hikes the ball, the whole defense quickly falls on the field and lays on their backs, making snow angels. Of course this one is weather permitting, but you can keep it in your back pocket just in case it snows.

5) We can use Steely Mcbeam for kick offs or as the offensive coordinator. Oh, maybe that wouldn’t be so crazy. Scratch that one, it might actually make more sense.
